What is the difference between commercial toilet paper and toilet paper? Functional division
Time:2025-10-24Hits:0

The core difference between commercial toilet paper and toilet paper lies in their functional positioning. The former focuses on "daily cleaning (especially toileting)", while the latter focuses on "hand drying". The functions of the two are irreplaceable, and their mixed use can seriously affect the experience or increase costs.

1、 Commercial toilet paper: focuses on "multi scenario daily cleaning", with the core being adaptability and basic practicality

The design of commercial toilet paper revolves around "universal cleaning", which can meet various basic needs such as using the toilet, wiping countertops, and wiping small amounts of stains, and is suitable for a wider range of scenarios.

Core functions:

Toilet cleaning: This is the most important function, and the paper needs to balance a certain degree of toughness and ease of flushing (to avoid clogging the toilet). It is mostly 2-3 layers and has a low weight (the weight of a single roll is mostly between 150g-300g), making it easy to tear and use.

Mild surface cleaning: can be used to wipe small amounts of water stains on bathroom countertops, sink edges, or light dust on office countertops, without the need for high-strength water absorption or tear resistance.

Key features:

Paper is relatively soft, easy to fold and tear, and some products will gradually decompose when exposed to water (suitable for toilet flushing).

Most of them are in the form of rolled paper (mainly large rolls with cores), suitable for commercial roll paper racks, with a large amount of single roll usage, able to cope with high-frequency use by multiple people, and control the frequency of replacement.

Adaptation scenarios: Public restrooms in office buildings/shopping malls (for toilet use), catering kitchens (for wiping small stains on countertops), factory workshops (for light cleaning).

2、 Hand towel: Focusing on "quick drying of hands", the core is water absorption and durability

Hand sanitizer is designed for the single requirement of "drying hands after washing them", with all its features centered around "efficient water absorption and resistance to breakage", and its functions are more focused.

Core functions:

Quick absorption of water by hands: The fiber structure of paper is loose and thick, which can quickly absorb moisture on the hands, reduce the number of wiping times, and avoid slipping or bacterial growth caused by residual water stains on the hands.

Tear resistant and durable: When wiping hands, it requires repeated friction, and the toughness of hand paper is much higher than that of toilet paper. Even after being soaked, it is not easy to break or fluff, and there will be no paper scraps sticking to the hands.

Key features:

The paper is thick and hard, mostly consisting of 3-4 layers, with a high weight per sheet (about 18g-25g), and its water absorption is 2-3 times that of commercial toilet paper.

The form is mostly foldable (such as single-layer folding, double-layer folding), suitable for hand towel holders, and can be used independently for a single sheet, which is more hygienic and can avoid waste.

Adaptation scenarios: next to the washbasin in office buildings/shopping malls, in the front desk/kitchen washing area of restaurants, in hotel guest room bathrooms, and in hospital washing areas.

3、 Core Function Division: Key to Avoiding Confusion in Use

The functional differences between the two determine that they cannot be replaced by each other, and confusing their use will bring obvious problems:

Using commercial toilet paper to wipe hands: it has poor water absorption and requires multiple sheets to dry, which increases the amount of paper used and costs; And it is easy to break when soaked, leaving paper scraps that affect hand hygiene and user experience.

Using toilet paper: The paper is too thick and difficult to decompose, which can easily clog the toilet; And the cost per sheet is 3-5 times that of toilet paper, which can cause serious cost waste when used for toileting.
